Web Developer: John Parker and Son
Using my breadth of programming skills in Java, .Net and PHP produced various web pages and web applications that worked with, and in conjunction with, their e-commerce sites and their internal administrative, web based portals. These products worked on a mixed web server base consisting of Apache and IIS and linked to DB2 and SQL databases. The production environment of the servers was a mixture of Intel based servers running Windows operating system and IBM I-Series 5 AS/400 machines. My knowledge of Apache and IIS was essential in acquiring an understanding of how the various web based services worked within this environment. This project extended my knowledge of As/400 operation and procedures.
Java and JSP Developer: University for the Creative Arts
- Provided developmental support for the project team.
- Developed Java applications for their virtual learning environment - Blackboard.
- Developed JSP web pages for Blackboard that included Java apps with JavaBeans.
- Developed links between other systems such as the library system using SQL 2008.
ICT Capital Procurement Consultant: University College for Creative Arts
Within a £750k budgetary framework defined, scoped and implemented the Capital Procurement process for Desktop Equipment. Built the business case and technical requirements following negotiations with all stakeholders: end-users, technicians & senior management; including Finance Director.
- Project Managed the £750k Capital Procurement Budget for desktop ICT replacement.
- Coordinated building of business case following negotiations with all relevant stakeholders.
- Negotiated contracts utilising value money principles and Office of Government Commerce Frameworks.
